Erin Brown is a Scottish artist based in Glasgow whose practice is in nonfiction filmmaking and documentary photography. Erin has a keen interest in people's narratives, she relishes the immersive research and interviewing process, getting to know real people and giving them the opportunity to share their stories when no other platform may be available to them. This is ultimately what drives her in her creative practice.

Over the past two years Erin has been investigating nonfiction filmmaking theory and its origins. She is interested in questions such as: 'can non-fiction film making really tell the ‘truth’?'; 'what are the ethical implications of the documentary film maker regarding her subject?; and 'when does documentary overstep into voyeurism and sensationalism?'. Ultimately, Erin is interested in how theory operates in practice and to understand how non-fiction broadcasting and film has evolved.
